The Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance at the University of Lusaka is designed to give you a solid foundation in how economies work and how financial systems operate. The programme combines core economics—such as microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics—with key areas of finance including financial markets, banking, corporate finance and investments. This blend helps you develop strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills, and the ability to use data and economic reasoning to understand and evaluate real-world policy and financial decisions.
Graduates are prepared for a wide range of careers in both the public and private sectors. Typical paths include roles such as economic or financial analyst, investment or portfolio analyst, banker, risk analyst, corporate finance associate, research assistant, policy analyst, and positions in consulting, micro-finance institutions, development agencies and regulatory bodies. The degree also provides a strong platform for further postgraduate study in economics, finance or related fields.
