Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Technology

The Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Technology is designed for individuals who intend to pursue a career in information systems and technology, with a strong practical grounding in both areas. The programme equips students to understand, design and develop information systems and infrastructures that support the needs of businesses, government and wider society, enabling organisations to use information and technology effectively in their day-to-day operations and long-term decision-making. Students gain a solid understanding of the tactical and strategic roles that Information Systems and Technology play in organisations, the relationship between information, technology and organisational needs, and current management practice in the development, use and governance of information systems. The programme places particular emphasis on research, critical thinking and effective communication, and on academic and professional skills such as interpersonal communication, teamwork and technical report writing—competences that are consistently highlighted by employers as essential for information systems professionals. Graduates are prepared to be immediately employable and ready to take up key roles in information systems and technology across both the public and private sectors.
