A. School Tuition Fees
Students from Southern African Development Community (SADC) member states pay the same tuition fees as local students. Non-SADC students are required to pay fees in USD.

B. Study Permit Application Information
The University of Lusaka continues to advocate for international students, including on matters related to immigration. Please take note of the following guidelines regarding the study permit process:
When should I apply?
- You may apply for your study permit as soon as you receive your acceptance letter.
- Any student enrolled for six (6) months or longer must apply for a study permit, including visiting or exchange students.
- SADC students: Apply once registered and physically in Zambia.
- Non-SADC students: Apply for a visa in your home country before travelling; once in Zambia, apply for a study permit.
Upon arrival, all international students are granted a 30-day grace period to complete immigration formalities. Failure to meet this deadline may result in a penalty of K24,000 or risk of deportation. First-time study permit fee: K9,000 (non-refundable).

- Individual online application (with departmental guidance)
- With the assistance of the International Student Advisor
- Through an accredited consultant (fee applies; only one recommended)
D. Study Permit Document Checklist
Required Documents
- Certified valid passport copy
- Certified photocopies of current passport endorsements
- Covering letter to the Director General of Immigration
- Letter of acceptance (from Academic Office)
- Medical report (from UNILUS Hospital or government hospital)
- One passport-size photo
- Sponsorship commitment letter
- Supporting letter from parents/guardians/spouse
- Covering & host letter (from International Student Advisor, Academic Office, or Dean of Student Affairs)

E. Study Permit Payment Modalities
- Zamtel mobile money (requires Zambian SIM and secure PIN)
- Visa card (ensure valid email linked for payment confirmation)
Visit Zambia Immigration e-services to apply online and create an account.
Proof of Registration & ID Cards
- Request proof of registration after semester registration.
- Students in School of Medicine & Health Sciences must wear prescribed uniform and take passport photo before requesting student ID.
Accommodation
On-campus
Available at Silverest Campus. Register and apply via student portal. Full payment within 48 hours of room confirmation.
Off-campus
Dean of Student Affairs maintains a list of vetted boarding houses near campuses. Visit university website under Student Life.
Student Life & Insurance
All students are enrolled in a medical insurance scheme through Madison Life Insurance.
