Bachelor of Science in Public Administration

The Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration prepares graduates for careers in public service, public organisations and related fields, as well as for further postgraduate study. The programme develops a solid understanding of how government and public-sector organisations are structured, managed and held accountable, combining public management, governance, public policy, administrative law, organisational behaviour and public finance in line with international public administration degrees. It also provides current public-sector employees with an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of public management, the environment in which it operates and the distinctive role of public institutions in delivering services and promoting the public interest. Graduates develop analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills that are valuable across the wider public sphere. They can work in government ministries and departments, local authorities, regulatory agencies, public enterprises, NGOs and international organisations in roles such as public administrator, policy or programme officer, budget or administrative officer, case manager, urban or community development support officer and public sector consultant, with clear progression routes into senior management and specialised policy, governance or development roles as they gain experience and further qualifications.
