Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Thank you for choosing UNILUS to pursue your doctoral studies. We are delighted to welcome you to the UNILUS family. The University offers two doctoral pathways: Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The DBA programme is taught and runs for a minimum of three (3) years and a maximum of five (5) years, with examinations at the end of every semester. The PhD programmes are by research only. To fulfil the application requirements, you will need to submit the following documents via the official University online application portal: (1) Passport-size photograph (2) Recently certified copy of your identity proof (NRC or passport) (3) Recently certified copy of your Grade 12 certificate (4) Recently certified copies of bachelor’s and master’s degree certificates and transcripts (5) Validation certificates from the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA) for all qualifications (Grade 12, Bachelor’s, Master’s) (6) Motivational letter (maximum 300 words) stating why you wish to pursue the doctoral degree (7) Two reference letters: one academic, one professional (8) Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) (9) Research proposal (15–18 pages) in your chosen field The research proposal should include: (i) Research title (ii) Background of the study (iii) Statement of the problem (iv) Research aim and objectives (v) Research questions and hypotheses (vi) Significance of the study (vii) Preliminary literature review (viii) Research methodology (ix) Data analysis approach (x) References (these are not counted within the 15–18 pages) UNILUS currently offers doctoral programmes in the following areas (though other fields may be considered upon request, depending on available supervision): (1) Doctor of Business Administration (2) PhD in Business Administration (3) PhD in Human Resource Management (4) PhD in Accounting and Finance (5) PhD in Computer Science (6) PhD in Cyber Security (7) PhD in Data Science (8) PhD in Development Studies (9) PhD in Economics (10) PhD in Education Management and Administration (11) PhD in Environmental Management (12) PhD in Information Technology (13) PhD in Law (14) PhD in Marketing (15) PhD in Project Management (16) PhD in Public Health Your application will be carefully reviewed in line with our admissions guidelines.
