Applied Research
The Centre fosters academic and collaborative research through proposal training, approach testing, funding support, and research assistance. It promotes knowledge sharing and international collaboration to support Zambia’s economic and social growth.

Research Overview
Research is one of the critical priorities of the University of Lusaka (UNILUS) and is supported by a Research Policy and Structure. The policy provides for research inputs and outputs, governance structure, critical infrastructure and incentives for lecturers conducting research.
Research Infrastructure
UNILUS is one of the first to establish the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Publications) in line with the current HEA Act of 2021. UNILUS has nine Science and Medical Science Laboratories at its Silverest Campus and a Library that has a University Repository for all research produced by students and staff. UNILUS is in the process of completing a 100-bed University Hospital at its Silverest Campus and creating a Postgraduate Research Laboratory for Higher Science Research. UNILUS has an internationally registered University Ethics Committee with the Zambian National Health Research Authority (NHRA) and the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). UNILUS has a DUNS/Unique Identifier number and is registered with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) of the USA, the world's largest funder of health research.
